Taken together, our results demonstrate a critical role for CENPU in COX-2-mediated signaling for angiogenesis, and identify a role of CENPU in regulating angiogenesis in TNBC.
These findings support a role of NOS2/COX2 crosstalk during disease progression of aggressive cancer phenotypes and offer insight into therapeutic applications for better survival of patients with ER<sup>-</sup> and TNBC disease.
Together, our results describe a novel role for COX-2 in mediating the TGFβ effects on BCSC properties and imply that targeting the COX-2 pathway may prove useful for the treatment of TNBC by eliminating BCSCs.
