As a result, we replicated the association between the UHRF1BP1 gene and SLE (rs13205210, missense, Pmeta = 2.26E-17, odds ratio = 1.41) by a meta-analysis of our previous GWAS and this replication study involving a total of 4,556 cases and 9,451 controls.
Meta-analysis followed by replication identifies loci in or near CDKN1B, TET3, CD80, DRAM1, and ARID5B as associated with systemic lupus erythematosus in Asians.
We also identified another coding variant in this gene that independently contributes to SLE susceptibility (rs13205210, M1098T, P=4.44 x 10⁻⁹, odds ratio=1.49).
