Six markers associated with early-onset prostate cancer [rs2171492 (7q32), rs6983561 (8q24), rs10993994 (10q11), rs4430796 (17q12), rs1799950 (17q21), and rs266849 (19q13)] were genotyped.
In addition, Genotype-Identity-by-Descent Sharing Test results suggest that Gln(356)Arg accounts (in part) for our prior evidence of prostate cancer linkage to chromosome 17q21 (P = 0.022).
We found that two SNPs, rs4473733 (HR: 0.65; 95% CI 0.42-0.99) and rs8176305 (HR: 2.03; 95% CI 1.33-3.10), were associated with lethal prostate cancer in men receiving RT.
To establish whether or not inherited variation in BRCA1 influences prostate cancer risk we genotyped 1793 men with prostate cancer in Poland and 4570 controls for three founder mutations (C61G, 4153delA and 5382insC).
