In conclusion, our results indicate that the <i>ERCC1</i> rs3212986 and the <i>ERCC2/XPD</i> rs1799793 could be used as surrogate markers for a better stratification of EC patients with advanced resectable tumor.
Overall, a significant association was found between ERCC2 Asp312Asn polymorphism and esophageal cancer susceptibility for GA vs. GG (OR = 1.20, 95 % CI = 1.03-1.40) and for the dominant model GA/AA vs. GG (OR = 1.18, 95 % CI = 1.03-1.35).
