Results showed that in northwest Chinese Han population, SNP rs17530068 (LOC105377871) increases the risk of breast cancer and SNP rs4784227 (CASC16) promotes lymph node metastasis in breast cancer patients.
Using the chi-squared (χ<sup>2</sup>) test and genetic model analysis, we found an association with BC for four SNPs (rs616488 (1p36.22/PEX14), rs6678914 (1q32.1/LGR6), rs17530068 (6q14/unknown) and rs6001930 (22q13.1/MKL1)) at a 5% level.
Similarly, rs17530068 at 6q14 was associated with breast cancer (OR = 1.12; P = 1.1 × 10(-9)), and with both ER-positive (OR = 1.09; P = 1.5 × 10(-5)) and ER-negative (OR = 1.16, P = 2.5 × 10(-7)) disease.
