In this study, the VTCN1 genetic variants (rs10754339, rs10801935, and rs3738414) indicate they could be connected with the risk of breast cancer, which in turn provides indirect evidence that T-cell immunity could be involved in the development of breast cancer.
In contrast to the results of a published study, the present study shows that B7-H4 rs3738414 polymorphism GG genotype was found in higher frequency in the control group than the breast cancer group and the result was statistically significant (P=0.018).
The rs10801935 CC genotype, the rs3738414 AA genotype and the rs3738414 A allele were associated with a significantly decreased risk of breast cancer (OR = 0.328, 95% CI 0.145-0.739; OR = 0.412, 95% CI 0.203-0.835; OR = 0.698, 95% CI 0.564-0.864, respectively).
