The results indicate that the miR-146a rs2910164 polymorphism was significantly associated with increased risk of digestive system cancer in heterozygote comparison (GC vs. CC: OR=1.15, 95% CI: 1.02-1.30, P=0.02), and recessive model (GG vs. GC+CC: OR=1.11, 95% CI: 1.04-1.17, P=0.006).
This current meta-analysis indicated that miR-146a rs2910164 polymorphism may decrease the susceptibility to digestive system cancers, especially in Asian populations.
