The lysosome selectivity of the probes was further compared by using fluorescently tagged lysosome associated membrane protein-1 (LAMP-1) expression-dependent visualization in both normal (COS-7, HEK293) and cancer (A549, Huh 7.5) cell lines.
Immunohistochemistry showed enhanced CD107a surface expression on cells that formed immature cell clusters and on cells located in the invasive fronts of cancer foci.
IL-18 elevated CD107a expression in cancer cells and increased the cytotoxic activity of NK cells; therefore, we propose that IL-18 increases the susceptibility of target cells by inducing surface expression of ULBP2.
