Our findings suggest that combinational use of miR-7-5p and TMZ might be a promising therapeutic strategy to increase the long-term drug response in GBM patients.
MicroRNAs (miR) are known to be critical regulators in tumor progression. miR-7-5p was reported to be involved in several cancers, including glioblastoma, cervical cancer, and melanoma, but its prognostic value and biological function in non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) remain unclear.
MicroRNA-7-5p (miR-7-5p) has been demonstrated to be a tumor suppressor in breast cancer, hepatocarcinoma, prostate cancer and glioblastoma multiforme (GBM).
By further analysis, we found that miR-576-5p, miR-340 and miR-626 were significantly overexpressed, but miR-320, let-7g-5p and miR-7-5P showed significantly low expression in GBM patients.
