The present study identified a long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) X-inactive specific transcript (XIST) as a candidate to mediate glucose metabolism in glioma.
However, the potential of lncRNA X-inactive specific transcript (XIST) to function as a miRNA regulator and its relevance in glioma tumorigenicity and angiogenesis have so far remained unclear.
Overall, the present study demonstrates that XIST plays a pivotal role in BTB permeability and glioma angiogenesis, and the inhibition of XIST may be a potential target for the clinical management of glioma.
Taken together, these results provided a comprehensive analysis of XIST in GSCs and important clues for understanding the key roles of lncRNA-miRNA functional network in human glioma.
