To explore the relationship between tagSNPs or haplotypes of CASP8 and the efficacy of platinum-based chemotherapy in advanced lung adenocarcinoma patients of China, we recruited 555 advanced adenocarcinoma patients.
Microarray analysis explored the GMDS-mediated molecular network and revealed that the CASP8-CDKN1A axis might be critical for lung adenocarcinoma development.
Blocking DR4 or lowering caspase-8 expression significantly reduced apoptosis in NSCLC cell lines, indicating the importance of DR4 and signifying that higher levels of caspase-8 in lung adenocarcinomas make them more susceptible to TRAIL treatment.
