Combination Treatment with PPARγ Ligand and Its Specific Inhibitor GW9662 Downregulates BIS and 14-3-3 Gamma, Inhibiting Stem-Like Properties in Glioblastoma Cells.
Down-regulating BAG3 both in vitro and in vivo in a rat glioblastoma model resulted in increased sensitivity to apoptosis, suggesting that BAG3 is a potential target for novel therapies.
At the cellular level, overexpression of BAG3 in glioblastoma cell lines, but not in non-glial cells, results in a remarkable decrease in colony formation capacity and this effect is reverted when the binding of BAG3 to Hsp70 is impaired.
