We conducted a case-control study to investigate the association between IL-10-G1082A (rs1800896) polymorphism and the development of coronary artery disease (CAD) in the Chinese population.
Our study suggests that the IL-6 -174G/C (rs1800795) and IL-10 -1082A/G (rs1800896) polymorphisms might be involved in the pathogenesis of CAD, and likely contribute to the genetic susceptibility for CAD.
In the present study, the IL-10 -1082A/G (rs1800896) polymorphism was detected in 174 coronary artery disease (CAD) patients confirmed by selective coronary angiography and 176 age and gender-matched controls from the Jiangsu area (East China).
