We found that TLR4 rs4986790 and rs4986791 gene polymorphism is a risk for UTI development in both diabetic and nondiabetic patients in north Indian population.
These findings indicate that children carrying TLR-4 Thr399</span>Ile polymorphism and/or having low level of monocyte/neutrophil TLR-4 expression have a tendency to develop febrile UTI.
