Deletion polymorphisms in the genes GSTM1 and GSTT1 and a base transition polymorphism at codon 105 (Ile-->Val) in GSTP1 were investigated in relation to breast cancer risk.
Furthermore, it also shows that the gene polymorphism (Ile105Val) at codon 105 is not related to the promoter methylation and two are the independent events in breast cancer development.
Otherwise, the combination of GSTM1 entire gene deletion and (GG) genotype of GSTP1 polymorphism (rs1695) was significantly associated with BC with p-value <0.05 (i.e. p-value was not significant after correcting for multiple comparison).
Role of GSTM1 (Null/Present), GSTP1 (Ile105Val) and P53 (Arg72Pro) genetic polymorphisms and the risk of breast cancer: a case control study from South India.
