Taqman based qRT-PCR analysis of host-genome encoded (hsa-miR-146a-5p and hsa-miR-125b-5p) and MTB genome encoded (MTB-miR5) miRNAs showed increased expression in a cohort of 52 healthy, pulmonary tuberculosis (PTB) and extra pulmonary tuberculosis (EPTB) patients serum samples.
In this population-based case control study, we explored the genetic polymorphisms of IL-17, TLR4 and miR-146a in association with pulmonary tuberculosis in a Chinese Han population.
The miR-146a SNP was found to be codominant, recessive and additive models, whereas, the miR-196a2 SNP was found to be codominant, dominant, and additive models in association with pulmonary TB.
