These findings suggest that the ADAMTS4 (rs4233367 and rs11807350) and ADAMTS5 (rs226794 and rs2830585) variants examined may not contribute to susceptibility to knee OA in the Turkish population.
Initial analyses of 2 sample collections (n = 277 and n = 159) showed a trend toward decreased frequency of the putative deleterious allele of rs226794 among patients with severe knee OA (P = 0.047 versus controls).
