The aim of the present study was to investigate the association between VDBP (rs7041 and rs4588) and (Taq 1-rs7975232 and Apa1-rs731236) SNPs of VDR gene receptor and susceptibility to CP in an Iranian population.
The findings of the study show the significant association of IL1ß gene polymorphisms with CP increased susceptibility in combination of oral habits as mentioned earlier.
The SCP group presented higher serum ratios of tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α/interleukin (IL)-4, TNF-α/IL-5, IL-17/IL-13 and IL-6/IL-13 (p < 0.05) than the CP group.
This work also infers that the best interactive model comprised of IL1B and IL10 polymorphisms cumulatively increase the risk of chronic periodontitis.
Infectogenomics: lack of association between VDR, IL6, IL10 polymorphisms and red complex bacterial load in a group of Italian adults with chronic periodontal disease.
The SCP group presented higher serum ratios of tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α/interleukin (IL)-4, TNF-α/IL-5, IL-17/IL-13 and IL-6/IL-13 (p < 0.05) than the CP group.
Protein concentrations of IL-1β, IL-6 and TNF-α were measured in corresponding samples of GCF, gingival tissue and serum from 125 subjects with chronic periodontitis by multiplex immunoassay.
We found that the statistically significant association of IL1A-889C/T (rs1800587), IL1B-31C/T (rs1143627), IL1B-511A/G (rs16944) and IL1B + 3954C/T (rs1143634) gene polymorphisms with increased susceptibility of chronic periodontitis.
Patients with CP and uncontrolled T2D presented severe periodontal disease and inflammation (PPD, p = 0.0072; CAL, p = 0.0480; bone loss, p = 0.0088), higher levels of CASP1 mRNA expression (p = 0.0026), a stronger pattern of staining for NLRP3 and ASC proteins in the epithelium and connective tissues, and significantly higher production of IL-18 (p = 0.0063) and IL-1β (p = 0.0018) in comparison with healthy or CP subjects.
We found that the statistically significant association of IL1A-889C/T (rs1800587), IL1B -31C/T (rs1143627), IL1B -511A/G (rs16944) and IL1B + 3954C/T (rs1143634) gene polymorphisms with increased susceptibility of chronic periodontitis.
We identified several potential biomarkers for CP diagnosis and prognosis (e.g., CSF3, CXCL12, IL1B, MS4A1, PECAM1, and TAGLN) and upstream regulators of biomarker candidates for CP diagnosis (TNF and TGF2).
Three SNPs of TLR4, i.e., rs1927911 (TT/CC+CT), rs2149356 (TT/GG+GT) and rs2737190 (GG/AA+AG), were associated with moderate/severe chronic periodontitis in Chinese population infected with P. gingivalis.P. gingivalis, which interacted with TLR4 gene plays an important role in the pathogenesis of periodontitis.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of interleukin-10 (-597) gene polymorphism and genotype distributions on chronic periodontitis (CP) development and IL-6 and IL-10 levels in gingival crevicular fluid (GCF) and serum before and after non-surgical periodontal treatment.
The aim of the present study was to determine the prevalence and association of the VDR TaqI gene polymorphism with severe chronic periodontitis in an Ethnic Tamilian population.
CP was characterized by increased expression of genes related to responses to external stimuli and an underexpression of immune system-related genes. qRT-PCR analysis confirmed microarray results, that killer cell immunoglobulin (Ig)-like receptor, two Ig domains and long cytoplasmic tail 4; interleukin-6; and selectin E were more highly expressed in patients from the GAgP group compared with the CP and H groups.
