Real-time quantitative reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction confirmed definite overexpression of WiNTRLINC1 mRNA in primary colon cancer compared with the corresponding normal colon mucosa tissues (p = 0.0005), such as ASCL2, c-Myc, and PRL-3 (p < 0.0001).

Functional significance of TCTP in PRL-3-promoted colon cancer cell proliferation, migration and invasion was investigated by Cell Counting Kit-8 assay and transwell chamber.
PRL-3 may predict poor survival and act as a promising biomarker for individualized therapy for patients with colonic cancer, especially for those diagnosed at an early stage.
