Regulation of the TLR4 pathway, as well as its downstream NF-κB p65 and p38 MAPK pathways, may be an effective strategy for the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases.
Importantly the ROS-mediated activation of the ASK1-signalosome p38 MAPK pathway suggests it is a major center of dissemination of the ROS signals that promote senescence, aging and cardiovascular diseases.
The current results demonstrated that NADPH inhibited platelet aggregation, oxidative stress and p38 phosphorylation, suggesting that NADPH might be a novel compound for management of high risk of cardiovascular disease.
