The present review discusses the association of nitro-oxidative stress, inflammation and advanced glycation end products (AGE) and its corresponding receptor (RAGE) in IBD and examines the connection between these factors and nuclear factors, such as nuclear factor kappa B (NF- κB), factor-erythroid 2-related factor-2 (Nrf2), and p53 mutant (p53M).
To investigate the associations between the rs1250569 (zinc finger MIZ-type containing 1, ZMIZ1), rs1042522 (tumour protein p53, TP53), and rs10114470 (tumour necrosis factor-like cytokine 1A, TL1A) polymorphisms and the development of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) in a Chinese (Han) population.

Our aims were to establish the frequency of KLF6 inactivation in sporadic and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD)-associated colorectal cancers (CRC); to correlate these abnormalities with mutation and/or loss of TP53, APC, and K-RAS; and to characterize the behavior of mutant KLF6 in colon-derived cell lines.
