We have designed a multiplex PCR, which allows for fast and high throughput demonstration of the BCL-1/IGH and BCL-2/IGH fusion DNA observed primarily in mantle cell- and follicular non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL).
Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) analysis of the CDR3 region of the immunoglobulin heavy chain (IgH) gene which, by demonstrating monoclonality, can provide additional arguments in favour of lymphoid malignancy is now frequently used for the detection and follow up of B cell lymphoma (NHL).
Furthermore, in another series of 11 patients and a NHL cell line, we demonstrated t(14;18) and t(11;14) in interphase and metaphase cells with a combination of BCL2 (or PRAD1) with IgH gene probes.
