Collectively, ICOS+ Tfh, Tfh1, Tfh2 cells, and MBCs participated in the antiviral treatment process of SOF/RBV with or without PEG-IFN-α-2a in CHC patients, and their activity was further enhanced during the treatment.
A total of 447 chronic hepatitis C (CHC) patients (including 328 treated with interferon alpha-2b and ribavirin), 129 individuals who had spontaneously cleared HCV (SHC), and 169 healthy controls were retrospectively investigated. ss469415590 genotyping was performed using a mass spectrometry method (SEQUENOM).
A total of 145 adult patients diagnosed with genotype 1 chronic hepatitis C (CHC) who had completed a 48-wk regimen of pegylated-interferon α-2a or -2b plus ribavirin combination therapy were recruited from six large urban healthcare centers and 199 healthy blood donors (controls) from a single site between January 2010 and January 2012.
The aim of this study was to assess serum antioxidant-oxidant (Redox) balance in patients with CHC infection before and after intake of the traditional antiviral therapy (pegylated interferon α-2b and oral ribavirin).
WIN-R was an investigator-initiated trial in which patients with CHC received pegylated interferon α-2b (1.5 μg/kg/wk) plus a fixed ribavirin dose (800 mg/d) or a weight-based ribavirin dose (800 to 1400 mg/d) for 24 or 48 weeks.
The rates of sustained virologic response (SVR) and relapse with pegylated interferon alpha 2b (peginterferon) plus ribavirin in patients with genotype-1 chronic hepatitis C (CHC) are approximately 50 and 30%, respectively.
To evaluate the efficacy of pegylated interferon alpha-2b (peg-IFN alpha-2b) plus ribavirin (RBV) therapy in Japanese patients with chronic hepatitis C (CHC) genotype Ib and a high viral load.
Our model suggests that peginterferon alpha-2a plus ribavirin is cost effective compared with conventional interferon alpha-2b plus ribavirin for treatment of naive adults with CHC, regardless of HCV genotype, under a wide range of assumptions regarding treatment effectiveness and costs.
Results from a recent clinical trial of patients with previously untreated CHC demonstrate that the combination of peginterferon alpha-2a and ribavirin produces a greater SVR than interferon alpha-2b and ribavirin combination therapy.
