While in IDH1-2/BAP1/PBRM1 group there were 58%, 22%, and 10% of patients with intrahepatic-cholangiocarcinoma (ICC), perihilar-cholangiocarcinoma (PHCC), and gallbladder cancer (GBC), in KRAS/TP53 group there were 42%, 78%, and 90% of patients with ICC, PHCC, and GBC (p = 0.003), respectively.
The most common alterations were TP53, KRAS, and CDKN2A in gallbladder carcinoma; TP53, KRAS, PIK3CA, and BRAF in intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma; and TP53 and SMAD4 in extrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma.
Frequent mutations were identified in tumor protein 53 (<i>TP53</i>) (14/27), SMAD family member 4 (<i>SMAD4</i>) (6/27), phosphatidylinositol-4,5-bisphosphate 3-kinase, catalytic subunit α (<i>PIK3CA</i>) (6/27), and Kirsten rat sarcoma (<i>KRAS</i>) (6/27); no significant differences were identified between EBDC and GBC tissues.

BCL-2 and c-Myc expressions gradually increased among CC, XGC and GBC (P = 0.032 and P = 0.020, respectively); while p53 and p21 were similar in the three groups (P = 0.167 and P = 0.122, respectively).
