<i>KIAA1456</i> gene was overexpressed in lung cancer cell lines (A549 and GLC-15), and the influence of <i>KIAA1456</i> gene on the expression of cyclin D1, neural cadherin (N-cadherin) and epithelial cadherin (E-cadherin) and their involvement in lung cancer cell proliferation, migration and invasion were observed.
Taken together, our findings present the first evidence that miR-124 could suppress the expression of CDH2 and regulate EMT, which might lead to a potential therapeutic strategy focusing on miR-124 and CDH2 for human lung cancer.
CDH2 (N-cadherin, a mesenchymal marker of the epithelial-mesenchymal transition) and ADAM9 (a type I transmembrane protein) are related to lung cancer brain metastasis; however, it is unclear how they interact to mediate this metastasis.
