In PBMNCs, TS mRNA/GAPDH mRNA levels were significantly higher in adenocarcinoma patients than in the controls, and significantly higher for pathological stages 2-4 and lymph-node involvement pN1-pN3 than for pathological stage 1 and pN0, respectively.
The CCND1/GAPDH mRNA levels were significantly higher in adenocarcinoma (35.125 +/- 37.387) than in non-adenocarcinoma (15.2 +/- 24.699; P = .0158), and CCND1/GAPDH mRNA levels were not significantly different among smoking status, sex, or pathologic stage.
High GAPDH levels may be characteristic of human adenocarcinomas, since colon adenocarcinomas also exhibited high levels of GAPDH compared to normal colon.
