In addition, c-rel has been activated by a retroviral promoter insertion in an avian B-cell lymphoma, and amplifications of REL (human c-rel) are frequently seen in Hodgkin's lymphomas and diffuse large B-cell lymphomas, and in some follicular and mediastinal B-cell lymphomas.
Our results demonstrate that there is differential c-REL protein expression in cHL in comparison with NLPHL and suggest that c-REL may play a role in the pathogenesis of classic Hodgkin lymphoma.
BCL11A coamplified with REL in B-NHL cases and HD lymphoma cell lines with gains and amplifications of 2p13, suggesting that BCL11A may be involved in lymphoid malignancies through either chromosomal translocation or amplification.
GATA3 Immunohistochemical Staining in Hodgkin Lymphoma: Diagnostic Utility in Differentiating Classic Hodgkin Lymphoma From Nodular Lymphocyte Predominant Hodgkin Lymphoma and Other Mimicking Entities.
Interestingly, the T cell transcription factor GATA-3 that is aberrantly expressed in HL was induced in most GC-LCLs and the memory B cell marker CD27 was activated in N-LCLs.
PD-L1 expression was present in more than 5% of tumour or non-malignant HRS-like cells in 100% of EBV+ classical (C) Hodgkin lymphoma (HL) (n = 10) and EBV-negative nodular sclerosis CHL (n = 8); 40% of EBV+ diffuse large B cell lymphoma, not otherwise specified (DLBCL-NOS) (n = 20); and 4% of nodal peripheral T cell lymphoma of follicular helper T cell type (PTCL-TFH) (n = 22).
Patients respond well to chemotherapy with cure rates of 80-90% and the recent finding of PD-L1 expression, an immune checkpoint, warrants the use of immunotherapy for some patients with recurrent and/or refractory HL.
