A syndrome has been observed in a kindred with deficient activity of hypoxanthine-guanine phosphoribosyltransferase in which affected hemizygotes have had mild mental retardation, a spastic gait, pyramidal tract signs, shortness of stature, proximally placed thumbs and clinodactyly of the fifth fingers.
