In addition, we found that in rhabdomyosarcoma and leiomyosarcoma tumors the expression of ZNF281/Zfp281 is significantly higher compared with normal counterparts.
The presence of lobulated borders, T2 dark areas, necrosis, hyperintensity relative to the myometrium after contrast administration, central necrosis, presence of high signal on b1000 DWI, ADC value lower than 0.82 × 10-3 mm2/s and type 3 enhancing curve on DCE can help distinguish between leiomyoma and leiomyosarcoma.
Thus, PSMA has theoretically been discussed as a possible future target for systemic radioligand therapy with 177Lu-PSMA-617 even in non-prostate malignancies 1.Here we report on a female patient with extended metastasized leiomyosarcoma experimentally treated with one application of 177Lu-PSMA-617 radioligand therapy.
The present study investigates the effects initiated by AT1- and AT2 receptor stimulation in SK-UT-1 cells, a human leiomyosarcoma cell line, and clarifies the role of the PPARγ in the AT2 receptor-induced differentiation and apoptosis.Selective stimulation of AT1- and AT2 receptors was achieved by incubation of the cells with Ang II (10-6 M) in the presence of the selective AT2 receptor antagonist, PD 123177 (10-6 M) and the AT1 receptor antagonist, losartan (10-5 M), respectively, the selective PPARγ antagonist, GW 9662, was used at concentration 10-6 M. The expression of smooth muscle cell differentiation markers, SM22α and calponin, was analysed at RNA- and protein levels using RT PCR and Western blot, which was also used to quantify Bcl-2-, Bax- and cleaved caspase-3 proteins.
The signatures substantially recover the leiomyosarcoma, dedifferentiated liposarcoma (DDLPS), and synovial sarcoma histological subtype diagnoses, and they also include a new signature defined by activation and inactivation of about a dozen genes, including activation of serine endopeptidase inhibitor SERPINE1 and inactivation of TP53-family tumor suppressor gene TP73.
Loss of orthologous murine defense-1 (mBD1) in mice enhances nickel sulfate-induced leiomyosarcoma and causes mouse kidney cells to exhibit increased susceptibility to HPV-16 E6/7-induced neoplastic transformation.
We suggest that uterine sarcomas with a morphology resembling fibrosarcoma (and in which leiomyosarcoma and the known molecularly confirmed high-grade endometrial stromal sarcomas have been excluded) can be divided into 3 groups:- an NTRK fusion group, a COL1A1-PDGFB fusion group and a group containing neither of these molecular abnormalities which, on the basis of positive staining with S100, could be tentatively classified as malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumor, although additional molecular studies may identify specific genetic alterations necessitating a nomenclature change.
Of note, 1 tumor previously diagnosed as leiomyosarcoma was established as inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor along this study with a novel ALK-TNS1 fusion.

More recently, in-frame TRIO-TERT fusion genes have been described in a subset of non-translocation-related sarcomas including myxofibrosarcoma, dedifferentiated liposarcoma, undifferentiated pleomorphic sarcoma, pleomorphic rhabdomyosarcoma, and leiomyosarcoma.

Notably, the splicing events of certain STS key genes were significantly associated with STS 2-year overall survival in the present study, including exon skip (ES) events in MDM2 and EWSR1, alternate terminator events in CDKN2A and HMGA2 for dedifferentiated liposarcoma, ES in MDM2 and alternate promoter events in CDKN2A for leiomyosarcoma, and ES in EWSR1 for undifferentiated pleomorphic sarcoma.
Immunofluorescence analysis of DNA damage response protein p53-binding protein 1 in a case of uterine dedifferentiated leiomyosarcoma arising from leiomyoma.
In this pilot study, we sought to examine TIL, PD-L1 and mismatch-repair (MMR) protein expression in 11 leiomyosarcoma and its association with outcome as potential biomarkers for adjuvant treatment.
In leiomyosarcoma (LMS), there was an association of lower cancer-specific survival (CSS) with the downregulation of miR-125a-5p and miR-10a-5p, and the upregulation of miR-196a-5p and miR-34c-5p.
We observed macrophage-induced tumor cell proliferation in cocultures of human monocyte-derived macrophages and leiomyosarcoma (TYLMS-1) and myxofibrosarcoma (NMFH-1) cell lines, which was abrogated by silencing of CD163.
Two metastatic alveolar rhabdomyosarcomas were myf4 positive, a metastasis of a gynecologic leiomyosarcoma was positive for actin and estrogen receptor (ER) and a recurrent dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans expressed CD34.
