We conducted a meta-analysis of studies on the association between TNFRSF1B rs1061622 T/G polymorphism or TNFRSF1A A/G rs767455 polymorphism and non-responsiveness to anti-TNF therapy in autoimmune diseases.
We describe 3 families (8 subjects) with the TNFRSF1A D12E substitution and TRAPS-related symptoms, in 4 cases associated with the autoimmune diseases multiple sclerosis and rheumatoid arthritis.
Importantly, TNF-blocking drugs can promote onset or exacerbation of MS, but they have proven highly efficacious in the treatment of autoimmune diseases for which there is no association with rs1800693.
