In the Cox proportional hazards model, we observed that individuals carrying CG+GG genotype of STAT3 rs4796</span>793 was associated with reduced risk of death from b</span>reast cancer when compared with CC genotype (HR = 0.43, 95% CI = 0.20-0.93).
According to Akaike's information criterion, the best model to describe the relationship between the haplotypes and BC was based on the SNPs rs6503691 (STAT5B) and rs7211777 (STAT3).
