In the present study, we aim to investigate the association of promoter-region polymorphisms IL-6 (-174G/C) rs1800795 and TNF-α (-308G/A) rs1800629 with pneumonia-induced sepsis.
Odds ratio for sepsis</span> was 2.07 (95%CI 1.24-3.44, p = 0.005) with the GG genotype of rs1800796</span>, which was confirmed by logistic regression analysis taking into consideration the presence of chronic comorbidities.
In this study, the relationship between the TNF-alpha 308G/A, the IL-6-174 G/C, the PAI-1, the FVL, the EPCR, and the Cathepsin G (Ars 125 Ser) polymorphisms and the development and outcome of sepsis in pediatric patients was studied.
