The present findings revealed an association between CD36 rs1761667 polymorphism and susceptibility to hypertension and/or CAD in a southeastern Iranian population.
Unconditional logistic regression analysis showed that gender, diabetes, high TG, LDL-C level and C carriers of rs1049673 significantly affected risk for premature coronary heart disease.
In conclusion, CD36 variants: rs3173798, rs3211892, rs138897347, rs5956, rs143150225 rs141680676 and C311T do not seem to be involved in the risk of early-onset CAD in Caucasian population.

Our findings support the view that C807T polymorphism of the GPla gene is not a significant risk factor for CAD, either alone or in combination with other major cardiovascular risk factors.
