280 esophageal adenocarcinomas that underwent primary surgical resection or resection after neoadjuvant therapy were analyzed by mRNA-in-situ-hybridization (RNAscope<sup>®</sup>) and by immunohistochemistry (TUBB3 rabbit monoclonal antibody; Epitomics).
We found no significant association between biomarker expression levels and clinical or pathological variables; TUBB3 showed a trend toward higher expression in adenocarcinomas (P=0.005).
TUBB3 is expressed in most pancreatic ductal adenocarcinomas, possibly accounting for the suboptimal response of these tumours to microtubule-stabilizing agents.
