Moreover, GPR48 expression was significantly associated with lymph node metastasis and inversely correlated with p27 expression in human colon carcinomas.
There was a significant difference in p27 expression between adenocarcinomas and normal mucosa (P<0.001, chi(2) = 13.333), which was related to the differentiation degree of adenoca rcinoma and lymph node metastasis (P<0.05, chi(2) = 8.901 chi(2) = 4).

In summary, high p27 levels detected in a subset of advanced breast carcinomas correlate with lymph node metastasis, suggesting that other mechanisms may bypass the cell cycle inhibitory role of p27 and provide growth advantage in these tumors.
