The effect of inhibiting COX [indomethacin (Indo) or NOS (L-NAME), eliminating H<sub>2</sub>O<sub>2</sub> (polyethylene glycol-catalase (PEG-CAT)] or targeting a reduction in mitochondrial ROS with scavengers/inhibitors [Vitamin E (<sub>mt</sub>Vitamin E); phenylboronic acid (<sub>mt</sub>PBA)] was determined in children aged 0-18 years; young adults 19-55 years; older adults >55 years without CAD, and similarly aged adults with CAD.
In surgically obtained endarterectomized atherosclerotic plaques grade VI-VIII (Stary classification) from 10 patients with diffuse coronary artery disease and chronic (7) or past (3) CPn infection, signs of inflammatory response of the vessel wall on infectious agents were studied.
Plasma vWF and F VIII levels were increased in diabetic subjects with nephropathy (P < 0.001) or with coronary heart disease (CHD; P < 0.001), but there was no interaction of both conditions on plasma levels.
