The combination genotype of XPG rs2296147 T and CSBrs2228526 G allele had accumulative effect on the risk of this cancer, with an OR (95% CI) of 2.23(1.37-3.59).
In the present study we show that a number of cancer cell lines from different tissues display dramatically increased expression of the Cockayne Syndrome group B (CSB) protein, a DNA repair factor, that has recently been shown to be involved in cell robustness.
Recently, we demonstrated that disruption of the CSB gene reduces the spontaneous tumor rate in cancer predisposed Ink4a/ARF-/- mice as well as causing their embryo fibroblasts to proliferate more slowly and be more sensitive to UV-induced apoptosis.
A trend was seen towards an increased incidence of lymph node involvement for tumors with amplification of the PL genes and for tumors with co-amplification of PL and c-erbB-2, which suggests a possible association with high malignancy.
