In routine care across 7 European countries, the adjusted drug retention, adjusted CDAI over time and attrition-corrected response proportion for RA patients were similar for bio-naïve patients if treated with TNFi-combo, TCZ-combo or TCZ-mono.
The aim of the current study was to evaluate the cost per response (ACR20/50/70/90 and HAQ-DI) and patient in remission (DAS28-CRP, CDAI, and SDAI) for abatacept relative to adalimumab, in patients with seropositive, erosive early RA in the US, Germany, Spain, and Canada.
<b>Methods:</b> Thirty-one patients with RA (22 women, age 62.4 years, disease duration 13.8 years, prior TCZ duration 35.7 months, 25 intravenous [8 mg/kg/4 weeks] and 6 subcutaneous [162 mg/2 weeks] TCZ treatments, concomitant MTX 8.5 mg/week [35.5%], and prednisolone (PSL) 4.3 mg/day [25.8%]) who showed an inadequate response to TCZ (disease activity score assessing 28 joints with C-reactive protein [DAS28-CRP] 2.9, clinical disease activity index [CDAI] 15.0, 28 secondary inadequate responders) were treated with additional IGU (final dose 41.7 mg/day) and enrolled in this 24-week, multicenter, retrospective study.
Baseline ΔTSJ/ΔPEG reduced the likelihood of achieving DAS28<2.6, SDAI≤3.3, CDAI≤2.8, ACR/EULAR Boolean and DAPSA<4 remission after 3 and 6 months in RA (OR 0.95-0.97, p<0.001/OR 0.96-0.99, p≤0.01) and PsA (OR 0.91-0.94, p≤0.004/OR 0.89-0.99, p≤0.002), except for ΔPEG and 6-month DAS28 remission in PsA.
Using the Corrona RA registry (February 2006-January 2015), biologic-naïve patients with RA initiating abatacept with 12-month (±3 months) follow-up and assessment of disease activity (Clinical Disease Activity Index [CDAI]) at initiation and at 12 months were identified.
