Analysis of the clinicopathological data revealed that the mRNA and protein expression of DEUP1, and its promoter methylation status, was associated with tumor node metastasis stage and tumor differentiation.
Lower CCDC67 expression was significantly associated with aggressive tumor behaviors, such as advanced tumor stages and lymph node metastasis, as well as BRAF mutation.
We suggest that CCDC67 is a putative tumor suppressor gene that is silenced in gastric cancers by promoter CpG methylation and that it may play an important role in cell signaling and migration related to tumorigenesis.
