Through quantitative analysis, the meta-analysis showed that ERCC2 Lys751Gln (ORGG vs. AA = 0.40 (95%CI = 0.1-0.86), P heterogeneity = 0.502; I (2) = 0 %) and ERCC5 His46His (ORCC vs. TT = 0.37 (95%CI = 0.15-0.93), P heterogeneity = 0.569; I (2) = 0 %) polymorphisms might influence the prognosis of patients with osteosarcoma [1].
We conducted a perspective study to investigate the role of ERCC1 (rs11615), ERCC2 (rs13181 and rs1799793), ERCC4 (rs1800067), and ERCC5 (rs17655) in NER pathway in the prognosis of osteosarcoma patients.
Our findings showed polymorphisms in ERCC5rs1047768 and MMS19L rs29001322 to be associated with clinical outcome of osteosarcoma patients undergoing chemotherapy.
XPG and MMS19L are correlated with response to chemotherapy and prognosis of osteosarcoma, so that they could be used as predictive markers for prognosis.
