We have previously reported that the chemopreventive polyphenol Curcumin inhibits the expression of the proinflammatory cytokines CXCL1 and -2 leading to diminished formation of breast and prostate cancer metastases.
Collectively, our data indicate that loss of TGF-β responsiveness in prostatic fibroblasts results in upregulation of CXCL16 and CXCL1 and that these paracrine signals increase prostate cancer cell adhesion in the bone matrix.
