Clinical association analysis indicated that low expression of miR‑212 was prominently associated with large tumor size, advanced tumor, nodes, metastasis stage and lymph node metastasis.
The levels of miR-144 and miR-212 associated positively with ulceration (<i>p</i> = 0.012 and <i>p</i> = 0.027, respectively) while miR-510 levels associated positively with lymph node metastases at the time of diagnosis (<i>p</i> = 0.004).
Our clinical analysis revealed that the reduced miR-212 expression was significantly correlated with poor prognostic features including positive lymph node metastasis and advanced tumor-node-metastasis (TNM) stage.
In addition, we demonstrated that miR-212 downrwegulation in thyroid cancer tissues was negatively associated with lymph node metastasis and advanced clinical stage.
