TNF-α stimulation further upregulated the expression of NF-κB1, STAT-6 in tandem with Ras-MEK signaling system in U87MG cells, which emphasized the possible involvement of these signaling hubs in the glioma microenvironment.
Thus, high-grade glioma T cells play a key role in directing M2 polarization of tumor myeloid cells, and reducing NF-κB p50 in both tumor myeloid cells and T cells may contribute to glioma therapy.
Results showed that the expression of NF-κB1 in human glioma tissues and glioma cell lines, SHG44 and U87, was significantly higher compared to noncancerous brain tissues and that the expression increased with increasing degrees of tumor malignancy.
