The PPI analysis results showed that RPS21, FOXO1, BIRC5, POLR2H, RPL22L1 and NPM1 were the key genes involved in the occurrence of PCa, and the Module analysis indicated that the occurrence of PCa was associated with cell cycle, oocyte meiosis and ribosome biogenesis.
The cumulative positive rate of autoantibodies against seven selected TAAs (cyclin B1, survivin, p53, DFS70/LEDGFp75, RalA, MDM2, and NPM1) in PCa reached 80.5%, significantly higher than that in normal control sera.
Such oncogenic-like properties are found in conjunction with a positive regulation of NPM1 on the ERK1/2 (Extracellular signal-Regulated Kinases 1/2) kinase phosphorylation in response to EGF (Epidermal Growth Factor) stimulus, which is critical for prostate cancer progression following the setting of an autonomous production of the growth factor.
