In this study we showed that treatment with ouabain (25 nM) caused simultaneous activation of AMPK and Src signaling pathways in human lung cancer A549 cells and human breast cancer MCF7 cells.
Thus, AMPK supports the growth of Kras<sup>G12D</sup>-dependent lung cancer through the induction of lysosomes, highlighting an unrecognized liability of NSCLC.
In addition, 11 kinases were found to be potentially related to lung cancer (MAPK1, IGF1R, RPS6KA1, ATR, MAPK14, MAPK3, MAPK4, MAPK8, PRKCZ, and INSR, and PRKAA1).
Western blot analysis and confocal microscopy results indicated that overexpression of miR-138 or interference of Sirt1 expression could inhibit lung cancer cell autophagy activity possibly through AMPK-mTOR signaling pathway. miR-138 plays a tumor suppressor function in lung cancer.
