According to previous studies, microRNA-497 (miR-497) functions as a tumor suppressor in several types of cancer, including gastric cancer and colorectal cancer.
Taken together, our results identify a crucial tumor suppressive role of miR-497 in the progression of GC and suggest that miR-497 might be an anticancer therapeutic target for GC patients.
These findings suggested that overexpression of miR-497 inhibited proliferation and induced apoptosis in gastric cancer through the suppression of FGFR1.
This study suggested that miR‑497 could serve as a tumor suppressor and a potential early diagnostic marker of GC by targeting Raf-1 proto-oncogene, serine/threonine kinase (RAF1).
