Studies indicate that miR-107 is involved in the pathogenesis of osteosarcoma and that tropomyosin 1 (TPM1) acts as a tumor suppressor in many types of cancer.
On the mechanistic level, with the top-represented downstream target TPM1 as an illustrative example, we demonstrated that, among its multiple functions, A2BP1 serves to regulate TPM1's alternative splicing to promote cytoskeletal organization and terminal differentiation and suppress malignancy.
miR-21 is an independent prognostic indicator for TSCC, and may play a role in TSCC development by inhibiting cancer cell apoptosis partly via TPM1 silencing.
