We previously found that overexpression of the gene known as amplified in breast cancer 1 (AIB1) was associated with lymph node metastasis and poor prognosis in patients with lung adenocarcinoma.
In summary, the results from this study suggested that AIB1 protein expression was associated with the T stage and lymph node metastasis in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma, and that Ki67 might play a role in the AIB1 non-steroid receptor pathway.
Overexpression of AIB1 might provide a selective advantage for lymph node metastasis of lung ADC and serve as a useful biomarker for poor prognosis for NSCLC patients.
