A logistic regression analysis was performed to investigate the association between pre-ablation LA emptying fraction (LAEF), MR-proANP, Caspase-8 (CASP8), Neurotrophin-3 (NT3), and the risk for recurrence of AF after a single RFA procedure.
Immunoblotting of atrial extracts showed that there was enhanced expression of cytosolic cytochrome c, an effector of the mitochondrial pathways, but no expression of membrane TRADD and cytosolic caspase-8 in the right atrial tissue of mitral and tricuspid regurgitation patients with sinus rhythm, and right atrial and left atrial tissues of mitral and tricuspid regurgitation patients with atrial fibrillation.
