The association between miR-106a expression and clinicopathological factors was analyzed, and it was identified that miR-106a exhibited significantly increased expression in adenocarcinoma tissues compared with in mucinous carcinoma tissues, and the expression of miR-106a was identified to be associated with the depth of invasion and differentiation.
Four miRNA clusters (the mir-17-92 cluster and its paralogues, mir-106a-363 and mir-106b-25; and the miR-192-194 cluster) were upregulated in patients with adenocarcinoma and one miRNA cluster (miR-132-212) was upregulated in patients with COPD.
Cisplatin-/5-fluorouracil-resistant oesophageal squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) and adenocarcinoma (EAC) cell lines were established, and the impact of ectopic upregulation of miR-106a and miR-148a on response to both drugs was assessed.
